What are we testing?

The main objective of Team S.H.I.E.L.D. is to determine what elements and temperatures are present inside of Venus’ cold layer.

How are we going to test this?

Since this layer hasn’t  been known for very long not much is known about it. By finding out the chemical makeup (what is there) and the temperatures, we will discover vital information that could lead to further  discoveries.

First concept:

Our first concept involves a spherical drone being launched from a cylinder tube. 3+ spheres will housed inside the cylinder tube like a pinball machine. We will be using the orbiter's helium to launch the sphere. There will be a metal plate at the bottom of the tube that will be propelled by the helium to push out the spheres. Our spheres will have multiple ports to receive elemental data from the atmosphere.

Second Concept:

For our second concept we thought of making actual containers for each of the spheres. While also using the same projectile idea as concept 1. We would like to put thermocouples inside of each tube to allow for better temperature measurements. We want to funnel our tubes into gas spectrometer so we can get accurate chemical measurements.

Third Concept:

For our third concept we blended the first two concepts together. We used the first concept's launching system with the shielded probes from the second concept. We are hoping to condence the spread of the probes close together while the shielding will protect it as it enters the atmosphere.
